Pre-conference course

Intermediate Mendelian randomization course

18 June, 09:00 to 17:00

This one-day course will provide an introduction to a range of estimation methods and challenges in Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis including:

  • Incorporating multi ancestry data in MR studies
  • Within family MR
  • Multivariable MR for mediation analysis
  • Drug target MR
  • Selection bias in MR
  • Non-linear MR

The course will not include an introduction to MR nor commonly used estimation methods, so participants are expected to already have an understanding of the principals of and assumptions required for (univariable) MR estimation when using individual- and summary-level data.

Date and times

The course will take place on Tuesday 18 June 2024,  from 09:00 to 17:00.

Course fee

There will be an additional fee for attending, to include lunch, refreshments and course materials. This is an in-person course, held at the conference venue.

Tutors

The course tutors are epidemiologists, statisticians, bioinformaticians and molecular geneticists from the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit who have a breadth of experience in the design, conduct and analysis using Mendelian randomization methodology.
